Harakeke celebrates one of our most precious resources that became used in almost every aspect of our ancestors life. The original kope (nappy) used soft mosses like angiangi and kohukohu, or muka for absorbency often with a woven covering to keep pepi snug. A collaboration with Minimi, hand drawn and designed by Minimi® NZ Maori Artist of Ngai Tahu descent.
These tiny cuties are a newborn sized version of our OSFM velcro nappy covers and fit from approx. 2.5-6kgs (birth to 9 weeks-4 months) depending on the size and shape of your baby.
Our newborn nappies feature:
- Double gussets around the legs to help prevent leakage
- 3 rows of rise snaps for adjusting the size of the nappy
- Tummy & back panel leak guard to help prevent wicking and leaks
- Front & back anchor snaps for snapping inserts in place
- Velcro closure for easy and quick changes
- Washing tabs to keep the velcro from sticking to other items in the wash
Nappy Options:
You can purchase a shell on it's own or have a set of inserts included.
Newborn Insert Set: Includes 2 adjustable snap in inserts made from soft bamboo cotton and bamboo terry giving 7 layers of absorbency. You can fold one insert in half to give extra absorbency in the wet zone for tummy sleepers and boys too.
Shell Only: You may prefer to buy the shell on it's own and then use them over pre-folds such as the Ecobots ones we stock which you can find here.
We suggest you buy extra sets of inserts as the covers dry very fast compared to the inserts and you can wipe them clean if they aren't soiled and use them again with a new set of inserts before washing them. The inserts make great boosters in other nappies & even our training pants once your little one has outgrown the newborn size. Extra newborn inserts can be purchased here.
